Haven’t posted for a while. How’s things? We’ve wrapped up our fundraising for our song Picture Frames – we were aiming to raise £500 for St George’s Crypt but finished up on £963. Pretty chuffed. Thanks a lot to everybody who contributed!

Secondly, The Myth had another spin on Tom Robinson’s Fresh on the Net show on BBC 6Music – you’ve got 3 days left to listen again…

We’re cracking on with stuff for our next single which will be a double A-side – “The Consequence of Youth” and “Burn The Map”. More info soon…

Picture Frames – our Christmas single

“Picture Frames” is our Christmas single released today (5th December 2011). All proceeds from the single will be donated to the Leeds homeless charity St George’s Crypt. To download the single, visit www.justgiving.com/soulcircus – all we ask is that you make a donation, it will all go straight to the Crypt to help them provide food, shelter and support to people who need it this Christmas time. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who was involved with/came to our single launch this weekend, it was a very memorable weekend for us. Special thanks to Andy Keir for the fantastic set design, Jack Simpson for helping us put everything together, and Test Space for hosting the event. The support bands were all mega, check them out Pretty Riddles, Whispering Dolls, Micky P Kerr & The Dudes, Colours And The Kids.

The Myth - CDs

This is a photo of all 100 CDs of our debut single “The Myth”. Once these sell out it will only be available digitally – and as each CD has it’s own individual sleeve (no two are alike) you can literally own a piece of history by pre-ordering one now from soulcircus.co.uk/preorder.
Tickets are still available for our launch gigs from the online shop (not many left for Friday) at £3 a pop. See you there.

Single launch party – 2nd night added

We’re dead chuffed to announce that due to demand we’re having a 2nd launch party to celebrate the release of our debut single The Myth. It will be on Saturday 15th October at TestSpace – if you have already bought tickets for the Friday and want to swap give us a shout. Our single The Myth is now available for pre-order. We are only releasing 100 CDs, and each one of them has a bespoke CD sleeve – proper limited edition like. To claim your piece of history, pre-order your CD now and you will receive it when it’s released on 17th October. We had no idea what to charge for them so we’ve decided to let people pay whatever you like (40p minimum so we can afford to buy a stamp).

Our first single

We are excited to announce that we will be releasing our debut single ‘The Myth’ on 17th October 2011 on Soundpeople Records. There will only be 100 physical copies produced, with each of the individual CD sleeves having a bespoke cover which forms part of a larger deisgn, created by local illustrator and musician Fran Rodgers. Both ‘The Myth’ and and B-side ‘This Climate’ will also be available to download.

We’ll be hosting a pretty special launch part at TestSpace in Leeds on 14th October 2011, and will be releasing tickets soon – it’s definitely not one to be missed.

In the meantime you can have a listen to the song here – this is an acoustic recording of the song from our Leeds Indie Radio session in June.
